Bringing Home the Dough:

At Flowers Foods, our Retail Customer Team (RCT) aspires to be a trusted advisor for all its customer partners, driven by its commitment to be a best-in-class CPG Sales organization.


The Accounts Manager will drive Flowers Foods’ selling efforts and customer strategy as a key team member on our RCT, specifically helping drive the customer partner business forward. The position works closely with the Director to lead customer partnership maximizing market share, sales and profit goals. The chosen candidate is the face of the company to the customer and is responsible for maintaining and developing customer relations in several categories. The role requires constant in-person and virtual interaction with the customer leadership team, and cross functional team members in other departments.


Rising to the Challenge: Position Responsibilities

  • Liaison to the customer and the Flowers organization
  • Activate the Flowers Foods and Subsidiaries Company System (e.g. cross-functional team members and resources) to develop and implement business plan/solutions that meets customer needs and drive category market share, profit and volume
  • Develops a book of business in strategic alignment with company goals and strategies to meet sales plan targets
  • Conduct regular business reviews with customer partners in order to monitor and elevate relationship, re-affirm strategies linked to needs and steward the business in order to maximize value
  • Collect information using various tools and techniques (e.g., connecting with customer’s technology, Annual Report, customer discussions, internal contacts, cross-functional teams) to understand the customer’s current and future objectives, strategies, and business priorities in order to tailor presentations and strategies to deliver results
  • Regular market visits to evaluate program and executional opportunities
  • Regular contact with customer partners to discuss opportunities and solutions


Knead to Know: Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years' of experience in retail sales/marketing
  • Experience in building customer relationships, preferably in a CPG environment
  • Ability to lead brands or account sales and build customer relationships with retailers
  • Basic leadership skills with the ability to engage stakeholders and execute tasks effectively
  • Quantitative and analytical capabilities with the ability to use data to inform decisions
  • Good communication skills with the ability to collaborate and build partnerships
  • Basic financial competence, including understanding of trade and financial drivers
  • Negotiation skills and the ability to sell persuasively
