What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Technician position at Flowerwood Nursery?
Job Summary: This position performs routine and non-routine analyses to support plant health and provide quality grown plants to our customers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze leachates for pH, EC, and Nitrate levels.
- Collect and analyze water samples obtained from irrigation ponds and wells.
- Scout plant crops for pests, diseases, and nutrition deficiencies.
- Calibrate and maintain lab equipment.
- Perform research on diseases, pests, and nutrition issues associated with crops.
- Record and analyze data from crops and prepare charts and graphs for easy interpretations.
- Prepare and deliver presentations on scouting and research results to staff and management.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Prior nursery and/or lab experience is a plus
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Work Environment:
Outside – exposed to very cold and very hot temperatures.
Pay is dependent upon experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $16.08 per hour

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
