The Senior Credit and Collections Specialist is responsible for timely and accurate maintenance of the company’s receivables through collection of delinquent accounts, research and resolving customer discrepancies. Maintains a large portfolio of customer accounts; collections, reconciliation, releasing orders and working with sales to resolve disputed items. Responsible for making credit decisions on new and existing customers based on collected data and trade references
Some of the exciting things you will do in this role...
- Responsible for a wide variety of credit functions for larger or more complex accounts.
- Ensures compliance with established guidelines, reviews and monitors credit sources, credit files, customer applications and delinquent accounts.
- Maintains records on credit risks, delinquent accounts and incomplete files. Notifies customers of delinquent accounts to solicit payment.
- Evaluates credit applications to identify degree of risk and credit limit for new customer accounts.
- Work closely with branches and sales to maintain customer service relationships and ensure invoices are paid within terms.
- Monitors credit hold queue to ensure orders are released in a timely manner and corresponds with sales team regarding delinquent accounts.
A must…
- Technical certification or Associates degree may be required in some areas.
- Generally, 5 to 7 years of experience in related area of responsibility.
