Job Overview:
As a CNC Machinist, you will play a critical role in shaping shafts at our Houston pump manufacturing plant. This opening is available for second or third shift, with the opportunity to work on complex projects that drive innovation in the industry.
Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC machines to shape shafts with high precision and accuracy
- Maintain and repair equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve operational goals and objectives
- Adhere to strict health, safety, and environmental standards
- Utilize precision measuring equipment to inspect and verify work
- Read and interpret blueprints and geometric tolerances to inform decision-making
Requirements:
- 5 years of experience running CNC machines and shaping shafts
- HS Diploma/GED and 5-7 years relevant experience
- Strong verbal communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize activities to meet business objectives
- Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair principles
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with machining shafts
- Verbal Communication – Uses clear and effective verbal communication skills to express ideas and request actions
- Planning and Organizing – Works with guidance to plan, organize, and prioritize activities to efficiently meet business objectives
- Health and Safety - Applies elementary concepts to manage and apply safe systems of work
- Equipment Experience – 5 years machining experience in a manufacturing or repair environment operating manual lathes, milling machines, or CNC lathes/mills
