Role Summary:
Americas Demand Planner is responsible for support of regional demand management. The primary focus is on developing unit level booking forecasts at the product family and material levels, as part of the SIOP framework. This enables operations to plan resource and material requirements to manage inventory and improve on time delivery. This position will work with the commercial teams to implement forecasting methodologies, understand market trends, plan for new product introductions, and determine anticipated demand across product lines and manufacturing locations.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Generate demand forecast, analyze statistical data, recommend solutions, and conduct monthly demand forecast maintenance.
- Analyze trends, maintain and report on forecast accuracy KPIs.
- Drive high degree of data integrity within ERP’s.
- Drive urgency and escalate issues that are foreseen to cause a disruption to the forecast.
- Monitor and report on important changes in sales forecasts compared to financial plan.
- Facilitate and support Demand Consensus meetings (sales, product management, etc.).
- Ensure processes are consistent with company objectives.
- Support introduction of new collaborative tools to improve IBP/SIOP process efficiency.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related area
- 5 – 7 years working experience in manufacturing environment with focus in planning, supply chain, or equivalent experience
- Strong background in data analysis, spreadsheets, and reading/understanding financial reports
- Proficient with the MS Office products and Excel (V-Look Up, Pivot Tables, Charts).
- Domestic travel required 10-15%
Preferred Experience/Characteristics:
- Professional certification in Inventory Management (CPIM) and/or Supply Chain Management (CSCP)
- Hands-on experience with SAP’s IBP tool
- Hands-on experience in ERP systems, SAP or Oracle
- Understanding of forecasting techniques
- Strong attention to detail, follow-up and follow through
- Project Management – applies a disciplined process for planning, organizing and controlling work
- Planning - develops effective plans to support long-term business objectives
- Demonstrates effective influencing and collaboration skills
- Strong communication skills; able to communicate with diverse groups and individuals at all levels across different locations and functions
