Role Summary:
This site leadership role has responsibility for driving excellence in materials planning and procurement for the Engineered-to-Order (ETO) business at the Raleigh, NC facility. This includes all facets of site procurement for all direct and indirect scopes of supply as well as materials and operations planning and execution through short, medium, and long-term planning cycles to support customer order requirements, production control, MRP and planning master data governance. This role must demonstrate enterprise leadership mindset behaviors and foster an environment of behavioral and functional excellence, employee development and engagement, and effective site staff collaboration.
Responsibilities Include:
Lead and direct the planning and procurement teams in all activities and processes involved in scheduling and committing customer orders into backlog, all direct and indirect procurement activities and supplier management and development, and the creation and execution of a capacity and material supply plan and order shipment forecast to support on-time delivery to customer order requirements and site financial objectives.
Ensure that required incoming material is purchased and delivered on-time in accordance with the material demand plan to meet customer needs.
Partner with the operations team to evaluate and execute the production plan through short, medium, and long-term planning cycles and ensure that the operations capacity and capability are sufficient to execute the plan and take action to mitigate any deficiencies. Drive excellence in plant resource utilization through effective capacity planning processes.
Develop and execute an inventory and material flow strategy and establish robust material management systems to optimize plant inventory levels including purchased, WIP, and finished goods inventory to meet working capital goals, physical inventory DSI targets, and support the customer demand plan requirements.
In collaboration with the quality team, drive supplier quality improvements in supplier hardware and documentation submittals, including corrective action management and cost recovery for poor performance, including costs for scrap, rework, and/or liquidated damages on delivery.
Ensure the procurement and planning functions maintain compliance with the site Quality Assurance Manual, the applicable regulatory code requirements, and with all relevant Flowserve policies and procedures.
Lead efforts to improve direct material and indirect spending costs, partnering with relevant corporate resources to establish and enhance contractual spend, identify cost reduction opportunities, and deliver on improvement objectives.
Proactively manage and mitigate supply risk, identifying areas of concern and collaborate with the appropriate corporate teams to execute mitigation actions.
Lead all aspects of the ERP system data integrity and transactional accuracy and ensure controls are in place in each function to maintain the correct BOM structures, accurate production routings and item master data, transaction and inventory integrity, system date accuracy, supplier master data, etc. Ensure that planning and procurement processes and ERP data governance will allow for accurate aggregations and schedule adherence of supply and demand and drive appropriate actions.
Establish and maintain an effective team communication and performance management process to ensure daily visibility to team performance, confirmation of standard work processes, proactive and robust problem solving of deviations, and on-going coaching and continuous improvement. Leverage Lean principles and partner with the site CI leader to continually analyze and improve all internal planning and procurement processes to drive waste out of the system, shorten order shipment lead-times, and deliver greater value to customers.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, operations, supply chain management, or business-related field.
7+ years of experience leading a large materials planning and procurement team in an ETO manufacturing environment, with demonstrated success in developing people and processes to achieve high-performance results.
Strong understanding of the function of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Master Production Scheduling (MPS) systems, with experience in how to leverage the system tools and processes to drive material and capacity planning excellence.
Demonstrated supplier development and management capabilities.
Solid business acumen and fundamental understanding of financial statements and business forecasting, including profit and loss, cost of sales, and balance sheet, with knowledge of how to influence associated business results.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English.
Preferred Skills / Experience:
Supplier management experience in an industry with specialized quality requirements such as AS9100, ASME-NQA-1, ISO 19443, etc.
High-level working knowledge of SAP or Epicor Avante as an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Planning and Inventory Management Certification through APICS or similar professional association.
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and experience in a manufacturing environment where Lean principles are core to the operating approach.
Salary : $90,000 - $128,000
