Job Description
We are seeking passionate and skilled art instructors to join our team! Instructors will lead a variety of classes for adults and youth in areas such as:
- Adult & Youth Classes – Regular ongoing courses and one-time pop-up workshops.
- After-School & Youth Camps – Hands-on arts programming for young learners.
- Field Trips – Engaging art experiences for K-12 school groups.
- Art Administration & Professional Development – Topics such as artist statements, marketing for artists, and selling artwork.
Studios & Teaching Spaces
We welcome instructors from a variety of artistic disciplines! Our facilities include:
- Digital Art & Craft Lab – Digital fabrication, 3D printing, vinyl cutting, laser cutting, photography, and more.
- Pottery Studio – Wheel-throwing, hand-building, glaze creation, and surface design.
- Blacksmithing Studio – Traditional and modern metalworking techniques.
- Fibers Studio & Loom Barn – Weaving, felting, spinning, broomcrafting, and various textile arts.
- Stained Glass Studio – Traditional stained glass and mosaic techniques.
- Coming Soon: Hot Glass & Metalsmithing Studio – Flameworking, fusing, metalsmithing, and jewelry making.
- Community Room – Ideal for painting, drawing, mixed media, and various 2D arts.
- Special Topics – Bookmaking, papermaking, creative writing, and other unique workshops.
We encourage instructors with unique skills and creative workshop ideas to apply!
Qualifications
- Experience teaching art classes (formal or informal settings).
- Strong knowledge of your artistic discipline.
- Ability to create engaging, hands-on lesson plans.
- Comfortable working with students of varying skill levels.
- Professional experience as an artist is a plus!
- Reliable and accountable – punctual, prepared, and committed to scheduled classes.
- Strong communication skills – able to convey instructions clearly and engage students.
- Organized and adaptable – capable of managing class logistics and adjusting lesson plans as needed.
Compensation
This is a contract position with competitive pay based on experience and class type.
