we work collaboratively on complex, fascinating projects. Now we're looking to add a new environmental planner who exemplifies our commitment to technical excellence, environmental responsibility, and customer service to our collaborative team.

As our new environmental planner, your priority will be the success of our clients in their quest to obtain environmental permits and approvals for their projects.

We work with a range of municipal, port, state, and private clients, with a variety of project proposals, with particular focus on infrastructure or habitat projects along the water's edge.

You'll be a key member of the team to make these projects happen, working with engineers and technical experts, and working directly with the regulatory agencies.

You will lead or assist in developing permitting plans and strategies that meet client needs while balancing regulatory requirements.

Then you'll use your knowledge of environmental regulations to put together strategic and complete applications. You will also work with regulatory agencies beginning early in the process to confirm the approach for approval, understand key points of compliance or potential environmental impacts, and what is needed in your applications to satisfy their specific requirements.

Your projects will each be unique and so will your workload as you intake new projects; synthesize technical content from multiple sources;

and stay in touch with the clients to guide their applications to success. You'll hit the ground running here with the mentorship of our senior planners and support of principals who will invest in you and your growth.

A critical thinker you ask probing questions and synthesize complex information to fully understand the project and its context, and then develop that into a strategic permitting approach.

Thorough the information you'll handle can be dense, the regulations are complex, and the projects are all different. You take care to review the details because you know that details make a successful application.

An exceptional writer you can turn technical information into reader-friendly content without losing the meaning. This is a full-time, permanent position with an excellent compensation package, which includes a competitive salary, commensurate with experience.

5K annually and have the position title of Environmental Planner I, while planners with 6 8 years of experience earn $87.

5K $100K annually and have the position title of Environmental Planner II. We offer quarterly merit-based bonus opportunities, equity and ownership options, 401K, medical insurance, vision insurance, dental insurance, long-term disability insurance, and life insurance.

We also offer 11 paid holidays and 20 days of paid time off per year. Floyd Snider provides employees with a flexible work schedule that includes core hours 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday.

Most staff are expected to work onsite 2 3 days per week, depending on their distance from our office. Project and field work may require you to work in excess of your standard billable work week, but Floyd Snider provides extra time off in the form of comp time to recognize this effort.

Regional travel is a small part of this role. We're a socially responsible business that considers all our stakeholders environment, planet, community, and supply chain.

Degree in environmental science, planning, policy, or a related field 4 - 8 years of experience with environmental reviews and permitting Demonstrated experience with federal, state, and local permitting, including strong familiarity with the following : # In-water permitting using Joint Aquatic Resources Permit Applications # Comprehensive land use and shoreline development permit applications # Ability to review engineering drawings, construction documents, and other technical studies # Strong writing skills and experience writing in a professional context # Anything on this list would be an asset, but is not required : Qualification as a junior Biological Assessment author with WSDOT Experience with natural resources mitigation planning Experience preparing and / or reviewing environmental compliance plans
