The purpose of this position is to plan and perform work requiring sound technical judgment in the
evaluation, organization, and execution of project management assignments worldwide. This role has
the responsibility to perform the essential job duties and functions as listed below with the overall objective of managing and/or coordinating project activities that are in compliance with the contract and ensure the safety, quality, value, timeliness, and Fluor profitability of the completed project. Performing assigned general duties of limited scope and level of responsibility, this position is designed to develop broader project management knowledge and experience. At this level, the role may have the responsibility as the only project engineer on a medium size project with full accountability for the general duties, or the responsibility for general duties on a larger or more complex segment of a very
large project.
Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Prepare/support the execution of project procedures for performance of administrative, project, and design tasks in accordance with Fluor Operating System Requirements (OSR), the applicable Fluor Group’s Operating System Implementation Plan (OSIP) and contractual obligations
• Provide assistance to the Business Risk Management Framework (BRMF) facilitator during the preparation and coordination of the risk assessment sessions; participate in BRMF meeting
accordingly
• Perform basic project engineering functions involving monitoring of progress, preparation of
procedures, documentation of communications and meetings, and identification/evaluation of
project issues and problems
• Assist in the management and coordination of activities among all project functions and
engineering disciplines in accordance with the established project baseline
• Coordinate efforts of technical disciplines, vendors and licensors to ensure integrated and
complete designs that meet project requirements and contractual obligations
• Participate in worksharing in accordance with the distributed execution plan among multiple
offices
• Review project staffing requirements and coordinate staffing with supporting functional
organization managers and/or subcontractors
• Support creation and coordination of overall project plans and schedules, and monitoring
activities, progress, and milestones against the plans
• Support creation and coordination of project effort hours, and cost estimates and budgets, and
monitor progress and cost performance against these
• Support the preparation, delivery and coordination of project deliverables, design documents,
and bid packages
• Provide coordination between design, procurement, material management and construction on
technical and schedule requirements
• Support identification and evaluation of issues and events that may constitute an increase or
decrease in project or service scope, cost, or schedule
• Develop required documentation to communicate (client/company internal) project contractual
and technical issues, status and progress reports; conduct/coordinate related meetings as
necessary
• Conduct and/or coordinate meetings related to project operations, internal issue resolution, and
communications with the client
• Coordinate and prepare for internal and client project and design reviews
• Support the interface and communications with the client’s technical staff
• Supervise establishment and maintenance of project records system; reinforce compliance with
Fluor contractual document management processes
• Coordinate preparation of project and design task force space and layout
• Coordinate and communicate project closeout requirements to entire project team
• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
• Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely
manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines
• Plan and organize own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staff
• Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards
• Adhere to and support Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies
• Effectively develop and apply the Core Skills to the job
• May need to travel to attend to business related matters
• Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality
• Other duties as assigned• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and six (6) years of work-related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner• Six (6) years of experience in engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction/construction management (EPFC/CM) industry including the performance of functional tasks on projects with a well developed understanding of procedures and interfaces
• Interface coordination experience.

• Experience in international locations and diverse cultural environments is recommended
• Previous successful performance in a project engineering position on a minimum of two (2) medium or large sized projects
• Detailed knowledge of Fluor’s software tools and databases preferred

• Certification in project management suggested, for example Project Management Professional (PMP)• Required to provide U.S. Citizenship proof.
