As a Senior Construction Support Engineer, you will plan and perform work requiring sound engineering judgment in evaluating, organizing, and executing assignments. You may implement and execute construction support activities on Fluor projects worldwide. On smaller projects, you will function as the lead for construction support activities. This position has acquired a general working knowledge in one or more specific construction disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop technical packages and complete contract scope of work sections for future subcontract work scopes.
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of construction support personnel, aligning and coordinating needs and priorities with multiple functional groups to ensure construction-driven execution is on target, with no impediments to work fronts.
• Prepare project scope of work narrative documents and support contracts formation process as required.
• Communicate and interact with all levels of craft, supervision, subcontractors, and management on Fluor construction sites and/or at home office visits, fabricator shop facilities, and alike.
• Review project schedules and assist in developing work plans to support project milestones, or develop mitigation plans when needed.
• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity, in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines.
• Organize and prioritize a variety of assignments and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, setting priorities and meeting or exceeding deadlines.
• Plan and organize your own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks based on priority of field needs.
• Conduct proposal clarification meetings and generate meeting minutes for project records and retention.
• Coordinate with multiple departments to help subcontractors obtain expedited disposition to project RFI's, SDDR's, and field technical documents.
• Coordinate badge requests and onboarding needs, including visitor access control and potential escorting as needed.
• Adhere to and support Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental, and Sustainability Policies.
• Work with project teams to identify work-to-go and/or punch lists in preparation for contract closeout activities.
• Coordinate and hold walkdowns with contractors and clients as needed, confirming notice of completion preparation for contract closeout activities.
• Provide and track detailed descriptions for subcontract submittal deliverables, including pay item schedules and validation checks as needed.
• Receive, review, and process all contractor daily reports.
• Hold and coordinate weekly progress meetings with subcontractors, helping to coordinate amongst multiple subcontractors with near or in-close proximity work fronts, which have potential conflicting work fronts.
• Validate subcontractor work progress and schedule, updating progress reports.
• Create a subcontractor submittal tracking registry.
• Create and maintain a technical document list for subcontractors, helping interface with work planners for development of construction installation work packages.
• Remain knowledgeable of requirements for applicable codes and standards on a project.
• Work with interface groups to help schedule weekly lookaheads and interface touchpoints (e.g., survey crews/coating, etc.).
• Assist and inform craft crews, foremen, project supervision regarding construction-related issues identified on drawings and/or specs.
• Perform quality surveillances as needed to reinforce site presence and proactive engagement with installation crews.
• Prepare material take-offs and procurement packages for requisitions associated with services, materials, and equipment necessary to support project schedules.
• Provide technical evaluation support for bid proposals.
