Summary and Objective
The Assistant Chief Pilot (ACP) is accountable for the professional standards of the flight crews under their authority and achieving operations, training, and safety management goals. The ACPs oversee the day-to-day operations of the flight department, including but not limited to; Flight crew schedules, review of Flight Risk Assessment Tools, administering performance reviews, assisting with the hiring of new flight crew, and management of aircrews.
Essential functions

- Perform the duties of a line pilot or standards captain when necessary
- Assist the Director of Training with training activities and maintaining air crew currency requirements.
- Assists the Chief Pilot with formulating operational policies, procedures, and implementation of new policies.
- Evaluates upgrade candidate recommendations
- Maintains proficiency, qualifications, and authorizations as Pilot in Command.
- Represents pilot management while on duty and/or acts on behalf of the Chief Pilot in his or her absence.
- Supports Pilot Liaison staffing as required
- Mitigates Frat Reports
- Assists and coordinates monthly FMS data updates on their fleet
- Supports the safety department’s programs to ensure the highest of safety
- Maintains a modified schedule to support crew staffing and HQ administrative assignments
- Support or lead monthly pilot meetings
- Any additional duties assigned by the Chief Pilot or Operations leadership.
- Conduct interviews for prospective pilot candidates

Competencies
- Holds a valid ATP Pilot Certificate
- Current FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) First Class Medical Certificate
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Supervisory responsibilities
- Supervises flight crews with primary responsibilities for assigned fleet(s)
Work environment
- Typical office and computer lab environment with frequent interruptions
- Exposure to loud noises including but not limited to airplane machinery and jet engines
Physical demands
- Ability to see and hear clearly
- Ability to read, comprehend, and speak English clearly
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
- Ability to regularly lift/move up to 30 pounds

Required education and experience
- Must be current in at least one of the company’s fleet types, with successful documented recurrent training, accomplished within the last 12 months.
- Free of any documented flight violations, mishaps, or incidents in the past 5 years.
Preferred education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in aviation or equivalent industry experience
- Previous management or leadership experience
- Has two years continuous part 135 turbojet PIC (Pilot in Command) experience at flyExclusive
