Summary and Objective

The Lead Line Technician is responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of fuel services provided to maintenance, transient, airline aircraft, as well as new hire training. This role involves competently refueling, towing, and wing walking aircraft using ground support vehicles, all in accordance with flyExclusive approved processes, procedures, and Best Practices. The Lead Line Technician will also operate Ground Support Equipment (GSE), assist in equipment maintenance, and perform inspections to guarantee fuel quality.

  • Train new hires to conduct quality refueling, towing, and wing walking for maintenance, transient, and airline aircraft using ground support vehicles, adhering to flyExclusive approved processes and procedures.

  • Complete fuel quality control inspections to include; daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and semi-annual inspections of fuel farm and truck equipment.

  • Ensure the functioning and cleanliness of departmental equipment and work areas.

  • Monitor weather conditions to guarantee aircraft safety and implement storm stacking procedures.

  • Greet and interact with customers, acting as a company liaison to uphold a professional image.

  • Perform specialized functions, including front desk and fuel farm backup, on-the-job training (OJT) for new and less experienced Line Technicians, inventory control, and working alternate shifts.

  • Calculate and record fuel usage and sales, completing necessary paperwork for billing and inventory accounting.

  • Fill Jet and Avgas trucks at the fuel farm and maintain fuel and fluid levels for GSE, courtesy, and ramp vehicles.

  • Monitor ramp and facility for safety and security, responding as appropriate.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail, time management, organization, and ability to work under pressure.

  • Basic Understanding of Computer Applications and Data Entries.

  • Problem solving

  • Must possess a valid US driver’s license.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficient in using estimating tools and software.

  • Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak English.

  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.

  • Work is done primarily outdoors; must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.

  • Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.

  • Microsoft Office Suites

  • More than proficient in Excel

  • Office equipment such as photocopier, scanner etc.

Work environment

  • Mostly outdoor office environment

  • Exposure to loud noises including but not limited to airplane machinery and jet engines.

  • Able to work around noise, dust, chemicals and fuel fumes

  • Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and noisy environments.

  • Must be available for all shifts

  • Variable work week to include days, nights, weekends, holidays

  • Attendance: Regularly scheduled attendance required

Physical demands

  • Ability to see and hear clearly

  • Ability to read, comprehend, and speak English clearly

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions as needed

  • Ability to regularly push/pull up to 70 pounds

  • Ability to regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds

Qualifications

Required education and experience

  • High School diploma or Equivalent

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Ability to work evening, nights, weekends, holidays

  • Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering high-quality services

  • Man-lift and Forklift Certification.

  • Tow qualified; NATA Safety 1st Certification; Fuel Safety Supervisor qualified; NATA Safety 1st Certification, eligible for Airline Fueling Certification and required FAA/TSA Certifications.

  • Meets TSA security requirements

  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

  • Previous Line Service experience

  • Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States, must provide two forms of Federal Identification.

  • Candidates must successfully complete a comprehensive background check prior to employment. This includes verification of previous employment, education, criminal history, and any other relevant information necessary to determine the suitability for the position.

Preferred education and experience

  • Hazmat Endorsement Certification

  • Minimum of an Associate Degree in Aviation or a related field is desirable.

  • 1 to 3 years Aerospace/Aeronautics Experience
