Description
The AP/AR Specialist will support the accounting operations of the organization by ensuring proper and accurate entry and coding of accounting related transactions, invoices, and timely submission of invoices and payments. This position will ensure that required backup documentation and/or approvals are followed in order to maintain the integrity of the accounts payable and receivable processes.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review and send invoices.
- Post and allocate payments.
- Ensure receivables and billings are processed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Prepare work by gathering and sorting related documents and information.
- Organize invoices by verifying transaction information, scheduling, preparing disbursements and obtaining authorization of payment.
- Obtain revenue by verifying transaction information, computing charges and refunds, and prepare and mail invoices.
- Collect revenue by communicating with vendors and consumers.
- Process invoices with verification to purchase orders and related goods receipts, services performed or progress billings.
- Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information.
- Maintain accounting ledgers by posting account transactions.
- Verifies accounts by reconciling statements and transactions.
- Code and allocate expenses
- Enter information into Quick Books/Accounting Software.
- Maintain financial security by following internal accounting controls.
- Maintain financial historical records by filing accounting documents.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in accounting/finance or equivalent work experience with AP/AR.
- Knowledge or experience with non-profit organization preferable.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports.
- Ability to clearly and effectively interact with co-workers, clients, and other stakeholders in both written and oral formats.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
- Valid Ohio Driver's license.
Will undergo civilian background check and pre-employment drug screening.
