ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Presents a positive first impression of the establishment's friendliness, excellent service and high standards. Availability must include nights and weekends.
- Greet incoming and departing Guests warmly; escort them to assigned dining area; present menus; announce waiter's name
- Use OpenTable to seat Guests in either the bar or dining area depending on their preference
- Answer incoming calls to the restaurant and provide appropriate service: fill to-go orders, answer questions about special events, member only events, and coordinate with the banquet department when needed
- Manage the flow of Guests into the Dining and Bar areas, provide accurate wait times to incoming Guests if appropriate
- Tend to special guest needs and requests
- Observant to Guests' needs throughout dining experience to ensure they receive high quality service (i.e. notice a drink refill is needed while seating another guest.). Inform the server or runner team.
- Assist in monitoring tables for upcoming reservations and assist in setting tables
- Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol control policies
- In charge of coat checks at the host stand.
- Restocking the host stand and host closet with the necessary supplies.
- Always maintain a professional posture, never turning your back to guests.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of two years of restaurant experience is preferred. Must be detail oriented, accurate and possess good organizational abilities and be capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously. Knowledge of Point-of-Sale operations is preferred.
Must possess customer service skills and strong oral communication skills. Competency in dealing with members and fellow employees under circumstances requiring tact and diplomacy. Must possess the ability to work effectively under time deadlines.
