What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account Director position at Flynn?
Love being a leader? Is solving complex marketing challenges your thing? Then we have the job for you. We’re looking for an additional Account Director to join the Flynn client services team. You’ll be responsible for the leadership, growth, and financial performance of multiple agency accounts, as well as the oversight of all cross-departmental client-related activities. That includes helping combine our data-based strategy and creative thinking to efficiently develop and deliver integrated marketing programs that grow our clients’ businesses.
Of course, this business is about much more than marketing strategies, tactical executions, and performance metrics. You’ll also be building and solidifying long-term client relationships. And you’ll mentor less-experienced members of the account team to help further their professional development.
Responsibilities:
- Drive integration across agency disciplines to maximize budgets and reach to achieve high ROI
- Proactively consult with and provide recommendations to clients that move their businesses forward
- Establish and lead cross-functional teams in the strategy, planning, execution, and results analysis of all marketing activities
- Develop in-depth expertise in clients’ business, industry, and competitors, serving as the subject matter expert for the agency
- Assimilate business, customer, and marketplace insights into the development of strategies and marketing programs
- Ensure agency teams have timely and accurate market data, strategic direction, and budget limits
- Develop and defend strategic presentations and agency POVs
- Oversee financial aspects of accounts including, development of SOWs, forecasting of account revenues, contract compliance, and agency resource usage
- Monitor and manage all client initiatives to ensure delivery of high-quality services and outputs on budget and timeline
- Initiate and support opportunities to grow existing and potential business
- Participate in agency new business pitches
- Provide coaching to help account team members grow their skills and competencies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
- 10 years of agency experience required and 2 years as an Account Director preferred
- Strategy, business development, planning, and financial management experience required
- Experience in highly regulated categories (Healthcare and/or Financial Services) required
- Direct to Consumer (D2C) experience preferred
- Motivated self-starter with outstanding initiative
- Exceptional client service and conflict resolution skills are required
- Must have strong persuasion skills and ability to command a room
- Detail-oriented with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
