High-Level Job Description:
We seek a strategic and people-focused HR Manager to lead and manage all aspects of our human resources function. This role will be instrumental in fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing culture as we continue to grow. The HR Manager will oversee the full employee lifecycle, which includes recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, employee engagement, performance management, and compliance. This person will report directly to the CEO and work closely with leadership to support and develop our most valuable asset—our people.
Detailed Job Description/Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Administer the entire talent acquisition process, which includes job postings, sourcing, interviewing, and offer negotiations.
- Manage a streamlined and engaging onboarding process to ensure new hires feel welcomed, informed, and set up for success.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Manage and continuously improve HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook.
- Track and manage PTO, leaves of absence, and attendance-related policies.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain updated employee records.
Benefits & Compensation
- Oversee employee benefits programs (health, dental, vision, 401k, etc.), including renewals, enrollments, and employee communication.
- Act as the primary point of contact for benefits vendors and brokers.
Employee Relations
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees to address questions, resolve issues, and mediate conflicts.
- Guide and support managers in handling employee relations, performance issues, and professional development.
- Handle employee investigations, discipline and terminations.
- Support leadership with organizational planning, role clarity, and team structure.
- Develop employee training and development programs.
- Champion a positive, values-driven workplace culture that supports team engagement, belonging, and performance.
HR Strategy & Reporting
- Identify opportunities to improve HR systems and tools.
- Provide regular reporting and insights on HR metrics (headcount, turnover, engagement, etc.).
- Stay updated on HR best practices and trends to evolve the people strategy continuously.

Required Competencies/Skills:
5 years of progressive HR experience; at least 2 years in a standalone or HR leadership role.
Strong working knowledge of broad range of HR laws and best practices.
Experience in a fast-paced, creative, or growth-oriented environment is preferred.
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Experience with HRIS tools, applicant tracking systems, and benefits platforms.
Excellent command of English grammar and spelling
Work well under pressure
Ability to think ahead independently and challenge oneself to learn and grow
Must lead by example and foster a supportive environment for the agency
Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite, Apple Keynote
Handle and safeguard confidential and proprietary information with great sensitivity
Able and willing to work during non-business hours as needed or required to fulfill job requirements
Must be based in Nashville, TN
Education Required:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (HR certification is a plus).
