The Senior Accountant will lead a team of associates in providing our clients with timely and accurate financial statements prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). To partner with our Clients in analyzing their financial position and proactively provide feedback which may enhance the profitability of their business.

Compensation: $75,000 - $90,000 based on experience

Senior Accountant Duties and Responsibilities
Complete the monthly close process for larger and more complex clients (typically five or more store chains).
Maintain client work papers in accordance with the standards documented in the internal audit work plan.
Dotted line relationship with FMS shared service offerings (payroll tax, clerical team, bank reconciliation, India servicing center)
Utilize strong analytical skills to make valuable recommendations to clients
Develop and document processes and best practices
Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP and meet established monthly deadlines.
Write reports using structured report writer and m-Power (or any other database reporting software)
Proficient using the FMS Portal and Dashboard
Review the financial statements with the client by phone or in person on a quarterly basis
Communicate and provide data to the client’s tax accountant or auditor as necessary
Train clients on the use of FMS software
Participate in FMS client and user conferences
Train and mentor new employees
Participate in the onboarding of new clients
Ability to travel
Other duties as assigned
Senior Accountant Skill Requirements
Accounting Degree (or business degree when coupled with ample experience)
Three to five years of experience in general accounting
Strong accounting skills and an understanding of the interdependencies of the cash flow, balance sheet and income statements.
Good leadership qualities
Strong communication, interpersonal and “big picture” skills
Ability to handle more complicated clients
Ability to extrapolate skills across multiple other associates to achieve synergy
Time management and multitasking
Effective use of technology
