Position Overview
FMS is looking for a strategic, creative Media Director to lead our media department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in media strategy, planning, and buying. An integral part of our team, the Media Director will oversee relationships with external partners, ensure that all media efforts align with our overall marketing strategies, and lead the growth and development of both individual team members and the department as a whole. The position reports directly to the CEO.
This is a client-facing role that requires strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to lead as the subject matter expert in both internal and client meetings. The ideal candidate will have experience building and leading a media team, developing and deploying media across multiple channels, and successfully driving strategy, performance and growth for our clients and account growth for the agency.

Key Responsibilities
- Vision for, and leadership of, the FMS media department including identifying key roles, team development, and strategies for increasing revenue and profitability.
- Development of strategic and technical skills for media team members.
- Refinement of media department operational processes, procedures, and efficiencies, including evaluation of current media software and tools.
- Meet pacing & KPI requirements for clients, ultimately working to improve performance.
- Oversee all media strategy, buying, road-mapping, testing and reporting.
- Work with brand teams to identify client goals, priorities, opportunities and efficiency requirements to improve media’s contribution to client success.
- Increase billing and channel support for existing clients and propose opportunities to expand media coverage.
- Continual work to learn new strategies, new channels, test new platforms and expand our media offerings, including leveraging personalization and AI.
- Oversee reporting, including writing insights and communicating with the clients.
- Oversee continual testing, verification & improvement of full-funnel structures.
- Collaboration with creative teams to make our work more effective.
Skills & Competencies
- Proven experience in media strategy, planning, buying, reporting and team development within an agency environment or similar role.
- Experience driving project road maps, media plans, competitive research, testing, measurement and reporting frameworks for clients across multiple media channels.
- Experience in campaign management across multiple platforms, including Google Ads, Bing Ads, Meta, Google Display, Programmatic Display, social as well as television, radio, outdoor and print.
- Experience with full funnel strategy, video, and lead generation.
- Proficiency with modern media platforms and tools.
- Experience with Google Analytics, GTM, conversion and optimization strategy.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Management of client relationships, reporting insights and optimizing media towards business goals.
- Experience in vendor relationships and negotiations.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team.
- Analytical skills to interpret data and report on performance.
- A collaborative and curious spirit.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Media, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 10 years of paid and earned media experience, working in an agency environment, leading a team.
Working Hours
- This is a full-time position. While the essence of this role gravitates towards an in-office presence, FMS embraces flexibility. Both scheduled and unscheduled remote stints are welcomed.
- Minimal travel required.
