We have a challenging and exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Manager who is energetic, can multi-task and problem solve, and has the drive and motivation to learn and grow in a fast-paced setting.
Primary Purpose:
The Warehouse Manager will manage and coordinate the activities of the materials and warehouse department. The manager will oversee materials operations and execute tasks necessary relative to materials scheduling, customer service, supplier scheduling, delivery, inventory management, and production scheduling.
Job Description:
- Plan, organize, direct, manage and evaluate the material management activities and budget of an organization.
- Conduct material management related inventory management and purchasing, production management, and warehousing planning functions, as required by the organization.
- Develop and communicate material management policies and procedures.
- Develop key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the material management operations.
- Perform day to day administrative tasks such as maintaining files and processing paperwork.
- Remain current with the latest material management tools and technology and procedures.
- Maintain open dialogue with other management to coordinate activities and improve performance and productivity.
- Cross-train worker teams for maximum production flexibility.
- Other responsibilities to be assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in materials management and/or warehouse management.
- Proven ability to develop and implement process improvement initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of developing and maintaining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated leadership skills to effectively manage a staff of at least 25 direct/indirect reports.
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills that can be demonstrated and implemented.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Must be adept at handling pressure in various customer situations and working well under deadlines.
- (Preferred) Belted in lean principles to include: Kaizen, Kanban, 5S, Six Sigma, and 5 Why.
- (Preferred) Proven experience in change management and development of standard operating procedures.
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree desired with major in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or similar discipline preferred. Equivalent education and experience will also be considered.
Safety:
Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
Initiate and maintain proper and necessary safety equipment as prescribed by law.
Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures.
Follow established safety procedures and techniques and perform job duties including lifting, climbing, etc.
Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.
