What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custom Builder position at Focal Point Fixtures, Inc.?
Position Summary:
This job consists of using building and mathematical skills to create reception desks, die walls, benches and similar structures that meet very specific guidelines. You will also be a lead, in charge of 4 to 5 fellow employees to create an important product that is in high demand. This is a great way to put your carpentry skills to use in an environment where your experience, insight, strong woodworking skills and an eye for detail will be sincerely valued.
Roles and Responsibility:
- Supervisory experience
- Inspects parts to assure they meet specifications and corrects problems
- Notifies receiving /inventory when in need of more supplies
- Cut, trim, file, laminate/PVC work manually as needed
- Receives direction from supervisor and notifies them when more work is needed
- Maintains the work area, machinery and tools in a neat, clean and orderly manner
- Prioritizes HOT jobs
- Follows all safety rules and keeps supervisor apprised of any issues
- Performs daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance
- Fills in other areas as needed
Qualifications:
- Must have supervisor experience
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Ability to stand for long periods
- The ability to troubleshoot and adapt quickly
- Work with exact tolerances
- Works well in a team and independently
- Willingness to be challenged
- Pays attention to small details
- Follows instruction well
- Ability to read blueprints
- Knowledge of of shop tools and woodworking
- Familiar with hand tools; drills, routers, staplers, saws, etc.
- Prior experience necessary
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $32.00 per hour
