Job Title : Corporate Controller

Job Type : Full-time, Salary-Exempt

Location : Denver, CO

Supervisor / Manager : CEO

Pay Range : $100,000-$120,000 Annually

Role overview :

We are looking for a skilled Controller to lead our team and maintain controls of all accounting functions. This hands-on position will be responsible for all day-to-day accounting operations, producing monthly financial statements and reconciliations; overseeing and improving accounting processes and systems; and ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. The person assuming the Controller role will report to the President.

What the team needs from you :

Develop, monitor and maintain internal control guidelines and SOP’s for accounting functions.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of monthly close process and preparation of financials statements on an accrual basis.
Direct supervision of accounting team of four. Train, develop and motivate.
Review balance sheet reconciliations.
Complete monthly financial statement variance reviews.
Maintain strong working relationships with operating personnel.
Manages external tax accountant for federal income and state and local tax compliance.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

What you will bring to the team :

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

5 or more years accounting experience (property management, retail or general real estate experience is a plus).

Proficient with QuickBooks, Appfolio, and MS Office products.

Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks quickly and accurately.

Strong self-motivation, and the ability to work both independently and with a team.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
