Position Summary
The Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the organization, ensuring compliance with regulatory, safety, and company policies, and managing key financial reporting functions. This role will provide strategic financial oversight while also ensuring operational efficiency and the development of a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and report on the company's balance sheet, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
- Oversee month-end close activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analysis.
- Prepare and present financial reports to executive leadership, offering insights for informed decision-making.
- Compile and distribute comprehensive financial packets to internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare lender packets and manage relationships with financial institutions.
- Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure financial stability and liquidity.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Oversee audits and tax filings, working closely with external auditors and regulatory agencies.
- Hire, train, and develop a high-performing finance team.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for direct reports to drive accountability and efficiency.
- Provide strategic recommendations to improve operational efficiency and financial performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize financial processes and support business growth.
- Manage job costing processes, ensuring accurate allocation of expenses and profitability analysis for projects.
- Develop and maintain job costing reports to support decision-making and cost control efforts.
- Work closely with project managers and department heads to track and analyze job costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
