Position: Middle School Math Teacher (6th Grade)
Rate: Up to $52 per hour
Reports to: Building Principal
We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Math Teacher to join our partner school's educational team. General Duties and Responsibilities
- Curriculum Development: Provide a rigorous curriculum that aligns with Pennsylvania Department of Education standards.
- Instructional Mastery : Demonstrate mastery of subject matter, instructional skills, and resource materials for the courses taught.
- Lesson Planning : Create lesson plans aligned with current state and district standards that drive instruction through formative assessment and differentiation.
- Classroom Management : Maintain a safe, organized classroom that supports independent learning, collaboration, and student choice.
- Instructional Techniques : Utilize a variety of effective instructional and management techniques to enhance student learning.
- Assessment : Provide a variety of assessments and use them for planning and instruction.
- Positive Environment : Monitor and maintain a positive classroom environment that supports school-wide behavior expectations, ensuring student engagement and mutual respect.
- Technology Integration : Use available technology and instructional media to enhance students’ learning experiences.
- Communication : Establish and maintain appropriate relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members by communicating in a tactful, courteous, and confidential manner.
- Collaboration : Communicate and interact appropriately with other professional staff in academic planning and school committee work.
- Professional Development : Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional growth by working with administrators to formulate and complete professional development plans.
- Parent Engagement : Engage parents and guardians in the education of their children.
Other Requirements
- Specialized teaching assignments may require additional training and/or certification.
- Must be able to pass initial fingerprint and background clearance checks.
- May be required to lift and carry heavy supplies and materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
- May be required to work outside normal working hours or travel to perform work functions.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.
- Appropriate Standard Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate for the subject area or enrollment in a PA certification program.
- Preferred experience in an urban school setting.
