We are looking for an experienced and passionate School Psychologist for our partner school.
Job Summary:
The School Psychologist provides psychological evaluations for initial referrals and re-evaluation of Special Education students. The psychologist evaluates students' cognitive, academic, and social-emotional development using techniques such as non-biased testing, observation, and clinical evaluation.
Responsibilities:
- Increase achievement by assessing barriers to learning and determining the best instructional strategies to improve learning
- Promote wellness and resilience by reinforcing communication and social skills, problem solving, anger management, self-regulation, self-determination, and optimism
- Work with students and families to identify and address learning and behavior problems that interfere with school success
- Evaluate eligibility for Special Education services
- Support students' emotional, social, and behavioral health
- Collect and analyze data, make recommendations regarding accountability requirements as they affect student outcomes
Minimum Requirements:
- Master's Degree in School Psychology from an accredited college or university
- Experience in completing psychological evaluations (required)
- One to four years of professional experience working in the field of child psychology
- Pennsylvania Criminal Record Check Clearance
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance
- FBI Criminal Background Clearance
Certificates/Licenses:
- Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania School Psychologist Certificate (required)
Demonstrated Knowledge of:
- The basic principles of child and adolescent psychology and related behavioral sciences
- Procedures and functions of a school system concerning Special Education in the overall education of a student
- Working with teachers collaboratively
- All relevant Pennsylvania and Federal rules, statutes, and regulations governing Special Education
- Response to Interventions (RTII)
- Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBS)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $82.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 37.5 per week
