What are the responsibilities and job description for the Database Administrator position at FocusKPI Inc.?
The client is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join their team. You will be responsible for setting up, managing, and optimizing databases in support of Enterprise and External Web applications. This includes working closely with system managers and developers to add system functionality tables and data optimizing systems for availability and performance and contributing to system upgrades.
You'll be also responsible for maintaining applications processes and maintenance procedures performance tuning and documentation and management of changes to database operations.
Work Location: Remote - anywhere in the US
Duration: 12 months contract
Pay Range: $35/hr to $43/hr
Responsibilities:
- Installation & Configuration: Setup, Install, configure, and maintain database systems.
- Performance Optimization: Proactively monitor, analyze, and optimize database performance and capacity. Tune database systems for optimal efficiency.
- Data Management: Perform data ports, data loads, and ensure data integrity through monitoring and testing.
- Backup & Recovery: Implement and test backup, recovery, and archiving procedures to ensure business continuity.
- Troubleshooting & Analysis: Troubleshoot database issues, perform database impact analysis for proposed changes, and provide technical expertise for database design and support.
- Maintenance & Updates: Ensure systems are updated with all relevant patches and upgrades. Manage and execute database release management processes.
- Schema Management: Alter tables and schema structure as needed to support application requirements.
- Collaboration & Development: Work closely with Application and Internet Development teams to develop stored procedures, triggers, and code, enforcing coding standards and best practices.
- Environment Management: Coordinate and maintain development, testing, and production database environments.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to database operations, processes, and maintenance procedures.
- Change Management: Manage and implement changes to database operations in a controlled and documented manner.
- 3-4 years of experience is required
- Strong understanding of database management systems and principles
- Experience with database design, development, and optimization
- Experience with specific database platforms like SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc.
- Experience with cloud-based database solutions
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
