Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bankruptcy Paralegal to join our dynamic team. As a Bankruptcy Paralegal, you will provide support to our attorneys in handling a variety of bankruptcy cases, including Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 filings. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in bankruptcy law who is looking to work in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare bankruptcy petitions, schedules, and other legal documents for filing.
- Communicate with clients, trustees, and creditors regarding case updates and requirements.
- Conduct research on bankruptcy law and case precedents to assist attorneys.
- File documents with the court and monitor deadlines to ensure timely filings.
- Organize and maintain case files, both electronic and physical.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, trials, and meetings of creditors.
- Draft and review correspondence related to bankruptcy matters.
- Prepare fee applications and track case expenses.
- Perform administrative duties, such as maintaining calendars and scheduling meetings
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of[3 years of experience as a bankruptcy paralegal.
- Education: Paralegal certification or a degree in a related field is preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficiency with bankruptcy case management software.
- Strong understanding of bankruptcy law and procedures.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases.
- Familiarity with local bankruptcy rules and court procedures.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, PACER, CLIO and Westlaw.
