What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Fohr?
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for a top-notch Senior Accountant to join our finance team and support our growing business. In this role, you will be responsible for managing our accounting operations and internal controls and supporting our financial reporting. You will work closely with both the finance team and team members across departments to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting while fostering valued relationships with our clients, vendors, and internal team members.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- General Ledger Management: Oversee the general ledger, ensuring accurate journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Month-End Close: Manage and execute the month-end close process, including entering journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and maintaining supporting schedules.
- Revenue and Cost of Revenue Recognition: Prepare month-end cost of revenue recognition and perform associated reconciliations. Support month-end revenue recognition.
- Internal Controls: Assist in the maintenance, development, and improvement of internal controls, policies and procedures. Ensure data integrity in the accounting environment and its related systems.
- Process Improvement: Proactively identify and support process improvement initiatives to achieve more efficient and controlled processes in line with industry best practices.
- Accounts Receivable/Payable: Supervise the accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, ensuring that outstanding invoices are followed up promptly and vendor bills and payments are processed on time.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate preparation of sales tax and 1099 tax filings in compliance with state and federal requirements.
- Ad Hoc Requests: Provide support for ad-hoc reporting requests.
- Team Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff, supporting their professional growth and development.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
- Our ideal candidate is proactive, curious, and an analytical thinker.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
- CPA designation is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in progressive accounting roles, including 2 years in a Senior Accountant role.
- Experience with accounting functions including general ledger management, balance sheet reconciliations, month-end close procedures, revenue recognition, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, preferably in an advertising agency or related industry.
- Proficient in NetSuite. Experience with Bill.com is also preferred.
- Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to independently prioritize tasks and responsibilities.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in both Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.

Salary : $95,000 - $110,000
