Foley & Lardner LLP is currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Strategic Financial Arrangements team within the firm's Accounting & Finance department. This role will support the firm’s largest clients through evaluating, maintaining and tracking pricing arrangements, billing setups, profitability, and client budgets along with monitoring inventory levels. This position will interface with Partners on a regular basis on a range of topics including repricing opportunities, client reporting, and targeting financial key performance indicators (KPI) for improvement.
Responsibilities
- Support top institutional and large complex client relationships with regards to financial data and metrics including utilization, leverage, realization, and profitability
- Provide financial support to firm leadership for clients regarding cross-selling
- Work with Partners to set pricing arrangements; understand when pricing is up for renewal and proactively work with the Partners in advance to set the stage
- Work with Partners to identify optimal staffing options and leverage opportunities
- Work through complex billing set ups with the billing team to ensure understanding of the arrangement
- Identify operational issues and provide recommendations for process improvements; assist with implementation of new processes and procedures
- Track and monitor financial KPI’s for strategic clients; work with Partner to adjust and progress toward improved performance
- Keep on top of major milestones for respective matters, such as trial dates and M&A closings
- Monitor key clients' inventory status; collaborate with billing & collections team and management on inventory that is aging to maximize realization
- Stay informed of current pricing trends within the legal market and apply learned concepts to help improve the firm's pricing capabilities
- Manage assigned projects with complex requirements
- Support team members in ad-hoc pricing requests
- Assist attorneys with client-facing fee monitoring requests
- Work with Partners on key concepts of matter management (Legal Project Management)
- Interpret, communicate financial data/results (both written and oral), and make recommendations in a concise format
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in accounting, finance, or pricing required
- Law firm or professional services firm experience strongly preferred
- Advanced proficiency with Excel spreadsheet, database, and word processing software including MS Office
- Familiarity with Power BI and Tableau preferred #LI-Hybrid
Pursuant to the Illinois Equity Pay Act the salary range for this Chicago based position is between $99,300 - $161,900. These figures represent the full compensation range of this position. The actual offered amount will be determined based on the following factors: education, experience, geographic market, and internal pay equity at Foley.
