Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Supervisor to oversee the accounts payable department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, overseeing payment cycles, and managing a team of accounts payable clerks. The supervisor will also collaborate with other departments to resolve any discrepancies and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead the accounts payable team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient operations.
- Ensure the accurate and timely processing of all invoices, payments, and expense reports in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Review and approve invoices for proper coding, accuracy, and compliance with company policies.
- Monitor and reconcile accounts payable ledgers, ensuring that all vendor statements are accurate and discrepancies are addressed promptly.
- Manage and schedule payments to vendors, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements while optimizing cash flow.
- Assist in the preparation of month-end and year-end financial statements by ensuring accounts payable entries are accurate and complete.
- Coordinate with internal departments (such as purchasing and receiving) to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to accounts payable.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, handling inquiries and disputes efficiently and professionally.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the accounts payable process.
- Perform regular audits and reviews of accounts payable transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Assist with ad-hoc financial reporting and special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
- 5 years of experience in accounts payable or accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, financial principles, and accounting software (experience with ERP systems preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

- Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
