About the Role:
As an Inventory Prep Technician, you will play a versatile role in maintaining and enhancing our furniture inventory and warehouse, ensuring that each piece meets our high standards of quality and presentation and that all furniture is properly prepped and stored for its next event. Your keen eye for detail will be essential in identifying quality issues and performing repairs and refinishes or clean treatments. You will also use your communication and interpersonal skills to work closely with our sales team to ensure that they have the inventory they need, in top tier condition for their next showroom appointment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 years of prior experience with similar responsibilities
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in furniture cosmetic fixes including: sanding, painting, staining, touch ups and general maintenance tasks
- Experience working with fabrics, stain removing, protective coating and general upholstery cleaning and maintenance
Responsibilities:
- Assist with preparing orders while assessing the condition of items.
- Clean and maintain upholstery addressing stains and wear to prolong life of furniture.
- Perform cosmetic repairs on various furniture pieces (wood & metals)
- Conduct sanding and prepping of surfaces to ensure optimal adhesion of finishes
- Document and communicate with manager any non-repairable items.
- Collaborate with inventory team to prioritize maintenance projects and effectively communicate project status
- Restock and organize inventory
- Assist with seasonal cycle count of inventory
- Ensure the warehouse is clean, organized and secure
- Maintain a clean and organized inventory storage area
Physical Demands:
- Exerting 50 to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or 25 -50 lbs. force frequently and/or 10 to 20lbs. of force constantly.
- Physical demand requirements are greater than that required for Light Work
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, and sitting
- Recurrent climbing, balancing, crouching, kneeling, reaching, and handling
- The job is performed primarily indoors in a warehouse setting
