POSITION OVERVIEW
The Catering and Events Coordinator will contribute to the successful creation and delivery of world-class catering, wedding, social and event experiences at Fontainebleau Las Vegas by supporting the Catering and Events department in all aspects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:
- Participate in daily departmental operations including reporting, training, distribution, change log, daily BEO meeting, daily events, etc.
- Develop and maintain all filing systems for department operations Create and maintain a work environment which promotes teamwork, performance, feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and Member satisfaction
- Answer telephones and direct calls to appropriate departments. Retrieve and distribute departmental mail
- Filter and input inquiries into Amadeus and assign accordingly
- Assist team in providing service levels resulting in maximum profitability and the highest guest satisfaction
- Assist team in preparing for site visits, pre-planning meetings, in-house events, special events, pre-cons and post cons
- Assist team in generating catering, wedding, social catering and event prospectus, contracts, and event orders and all production requirements
- Assist team in preparation for group arrivals to include but not limited to transfers, amenities, affiliates, VIPs, group resume, room inspections, restaurant and spa reservations, banquet event orders, etc.
- Maintain an open perspective, provide ideas to better the department and be able to adapt to a changing environment
- Follow Fontainebleau Las Vegas Policies, Procedures and SOPs
- Continually audit office management and administration systems to implement improvements where necessary and keep office supplies stocked
- Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality, Business, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in a large, luxury resort setting
- Minimum of one (1) year of hotel experience in catering and events
- Experience in luxury guest experience training
- Delphi and Amadeus Diagramming experience required
- Knowledge of meeting room capacities, banquet set-up, audio-visual, and any other pertinent details as they relate to function and room set-up preferred
- Provide the ultimate experience for all clients while providing the highest level in standards of service without sacrificing quality
- Ability to work under pressure and manage stressful situations during busy periods
- Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft application tools, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
- Pleasant disposition and professional appearance
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational skills; be able to function under time constraints and deadlines with attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and manage stressful situations during busy periods
- Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include holidays, nights, and weekends
- Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.
