Position Summary
The forging press setup operator positon requires using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes. The operator must handle and move objects using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials and manipulating item.
Position Responsibilities (Job Skills) Include but are not limited to
1
Ability to study blueprints or other instructions to determine equipment setup requirements
2
Ability to maneuver workpleces in equipment during production
3
Ability to measure dimensions of completed products or work pieces to verify conformance to specifications
4
Ability to operate metal forming equipment
5
Ability to watch gauges, dials or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly
6
Ability to control operations of equipment or systems
7
Ability to understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents
Qualifications-Education/Experience
1
Production and Processing-Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods
2
Mathematics-Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and other applications
3
Mechanical-knowledge of machines and tools including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
4
Engineering and Technology-Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various parts
5
High school diloma or equivalent requred
6
Near Vision-the ability to see details at close range
7
Oral Comprehension-The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented thorugh spoken words and sentences
8
Arm-Hand Steadiness-The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or when holding your arm and hand in one position
9
Control Precision-The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positions
