Schedule: 40 Hours per Week/Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm (Includes 30-minute unpaid meal break).

Food Bank of Central New York is a not-for-profit organization leading the effort to eliminate hunger in our region, by partnership with others in our community, through education, advocacy, and distribution of nutritious food. We partner with 360 community partners in the counties of Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, and St. Lawrence.
The core of our work is achieved by partnering with local agencies that distribute food to individuals and families in need. The key partners that make up our emergency food network are food pantries, soup kitchens, and emergency shelters. Other not-for-profit agencies such as day care centers, rehabilitation centers, senior centers, and group homes are able to utilize membership as a way to supplement their agency food needs.

Hunger is a very serious problem in the United States today. Despite its great wealth, an estimated one in eight Americans rely on emergency food assistance. Among the thousands of people who depend on charitable food programs in central and northern New York, and the Mohawk Valley:
· 29% are children 18 or younger
· 10% are without health insurance
· 68% have been unemployed for more than two years
· 32% have a working family member
· 91% are below the federal poverty line
41% earn less than $12,000 annually
POSITION SUMMARY
The IT Support Technician at Food Bank of Central New York is a crucial entry-level role responsible for providing first-line technical support to staff. This position ensures the smooth operation of IT systems, supporting the organization's mission of eliminating hunger through effective technology solutions. The Specialist will troubleshoot issues, manage user requests, and maintain systems, all while embodying the Food Bank’s core values of being knowledgeable, courageous, and adaptable.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Serve as the first point of contact for technical support, resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues for an 80-person non-profit organization.
- Install, configure, and maintain IT equipment, including computers, printers, and other peripheral devices.
- Manage user accounts and access through Active Directory and Office 365, ensuring proper permissions and security.
- Assist in maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, including onsite and cloud-based systems.
- Assists with the purchase, tracking and deployment of IT assets
- Document support requests, resolutions, and processes in accordance with established IT support procedures.
- Provide training and support to staff on the use of software applications and IT systems.
- Assist with the setup and configuration of workstations for new hires.
- Collaborate with the Senior Information Systems Manager on IT projects and system upgrades.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift and move IT equipment, such as computers and monitors, up to 25 pounds.
- Frequent sitting, standing, and walking as required to support various departments.
- Manual dexterity to operate computer and other office equipment.
- Ability to work in varied environments, including office, warehouse, and remote settings.
- Ability to travel within Central New York to support three satellite offices in the regions we serve. These offices have 1-3 employees in each. (10% travel expected)

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field is preferred.
- This position will receive a pre-employment background check. Food Bank of Central New York complies with all applicable state and federal laws pertaining to drug testing and background checks, including Article 23-A.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 1-3 years of experience in IT support or a related field is required with an Associate's degree and preferred with a Bachelor's degree.
- Working Knowledge with Windows 10/11 and Microsoft Office Suite/365.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on clear and patient communication.
- Proficiency in managing and configuring Windows operating systems.
- Basic understanding of networking principles and practices.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic work environment.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Bi-or multi-lingual preferred.
