What are the responsibilities and job description for the Catering and Events Assistant Manager position at Food For Thought?
Food For Thought Catering Company is looking to hire a full time catering assistant manager to assist administration functions.
We are seeking a hard working, flexible, creative, self-motivated, energetic and positive individual with organization skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a high pace dynamic environment to assist with the following duties (but NOT limited to):
- Direct and Indirect customer service from the initial inquiry through final execution of event or order.
- Taking orders via phone, e-mail and direct customer interaction
- Prepare and assist Manager with weekly staff meeting prep.
- Update website when needed, post pictures, events, offers on social media
- Participate in marketing strategy meetings
- Creating detailed proposals specific to each event & client. (Based on budget and pricing provided)
- Providing the kitchen team with final order forms monthly, weekly, daily.
- Delivery, Set Up, Pick Up items Of Un-Staffed Events
- Order Organization: Arrange supplies and food prior to order deliveries and pickups (Detailed menu cards, service needs, beverages, serving platters/utensils etc…)
- Schedule event Staff, write detailed event briefings,
- Plan our time on events (Who is doing what and when) and check with the supervisor prior to the event.
- Updated Clients with our timeline prior to events/deliveries
- Office/front of the house Inventory - Bi-monthly
- Dishwashing and Storage of supplies post events as needed
- Follow Up emails; Writing and mailing Thank You Notes
Wedding, Large & Small Event Execution
- Event Organization & Execution:
- Organize and ensure all necessary supplies, staffing, vendor coordination and details are effectively arranged, often for multiple concurrent events.
- On Site point of contact or Supervision and Management of temporary FFT Support Staff & Outside Vendors
- Event Set Up & Management, Meal Execution, Staff Oversight & Ultimate Client Satisfaction.
Shop/Supply Organization:
- Maintain Supplies: submit front of the house orders to manager and/or purchase items as needed (Food & Beverage Serving & Display Items, Disposable Products, Linens etc)
- Ensure storage areas of dish ware, utensils and all catering supplies are organized, Clean and stocked with appropriate levels of product.
- Research new supplies and equipment as necessary, purchase and arrange for installation or use.
Kitchen Duties : On an as needed basis.
- Occasional light food prep when in a pinch. If a staff member is out sick or we have really large events, we operate as a team to ensure all tasks are complete.
Candidates must have experience in food service, customer service and/or the hospitality market. This is a long term stable job opportunity for the right individual to join a very busy, successful and rapidly growing local catering organization.
Must have reliable vehicle and clean driving record to be considered.
Monthly schedule is based upon booked orders and events, and vary regularly, to include evenings and Saturdays. Flexibility is essential for this position.
