Position Summary
Food Lab is seeking an experienced and passionate Lead Chef Instructor to oversee and elevate our culinary programming. The ideal candidate is a skilled chef, natural educator, and strong leader with a love for teaching and food. This is a full-time position requiring availability on weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and Teach Classes: Deliver engaging, hands-on cooking classes for adults and families, demonstrating techniques and guiding participants through recipes.
- Curriculum Development: Collaborate on class planning and recipe development tailored to various skill levels and seasonal trends.
- Food Ordering & Inventory Management: Order ingredients and supplies, track usage, and maintain inventory to ensure efficiency and minimize waste.
- Team Management: Manage, train, and mentor kitchen and instructional staff to uphold Food Lab’s quality and service standards.
- Operational Oversight: Ensure kitchen cleanliness, food safety compliance, and smooth class operations.
- Customer Engagement: Foster a welcoming, educational, and fun atmosphere for students and guests.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of professional culinary experience, including kitchen leadership.
- Prior experience in teaching, training, or culinary education preferred.
- Strong knowledge of a wide range of cuisines and cooking techniques.
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends is required.
