Who We Are :
Food Lifeline believes that hunger doesn’t have to happen, and our mission is to feed people experiencing hunger today and work to end hunger for tomorrow. We’re currently hiring a Director of Development as a member of our development department to help lead our fundraising, marketing and volunteer engagement efforts in order to grow community investment in our work.
What are we looking for?
Our Director of Development is responsible for leading and directing, in collaboration with the CDO, all direct-line fundraising & donor engagement efforts including support and implementation strategies to successfully achieve department goals and specific revenue targets.

Who are you?
You care deeply about people experiencing hunger and hold them in the center of all that you do. You understand that our work in and with the community is at the heart of our mission to end hunger. You are a senior leader who is ready to lead a large, highly experienced, and effective fundraising team and craft its next evolution stage. You also have significant experience overseeing marketing and communications programs and are intrigued by the idea of shifting the organization’s branding and messaging to track with our new strategic direction. Finally, you’re passionate about volunteerism and eager to help us expand and deepen our program.
You have a proven ability to raise significant funds – personally and trough building accountable teams. You are an expert in philanthropy, pairing bold goals with strong plans, and you’re passionate about using philanthropy to drive social justice. You are committed to using equity as a process and an outcome of your work. You are known for your ability to think strategically and holistically yet also to drive tactics and projects to fruition.
You have confidence in your skills and knowledge and the humility to reflect, listen to understand, and be changed. You have outstanding communication and diplomacy skills and are a natural motivator who can influence at all levels. You are courageous enough to take risks, shoulder responsibility, fail occasionally, and continually learn.
Most of all, you wake up in the morning eager to use your skills to build a movement to end hunger, and you are interested in being on the front lines to help get food to people during this current crisis.
