Qualifications |
Primary Purpose:
To operate a department, which meets or exceeds standards set forth by federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, and to perform with skill multiple tasks necessary to operate a department in which nutritious, attractive, and satisfying meals are prepared and served under high standards of sanitation and safety to all students.
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
High standards of Sanitation
Must be able to operate forklift and electric pallet jack
Experience:
Previous experience in warehouse operations, shipping, and receiving preferred
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Trustees may find appropriate and acceptable

Technical Skills, Responsibilities and Duties |

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Stores warehouse products upon delivery or staging according to established procedures.
- Proper stock rotation FIFO (First-in First-out).
- Takes items from stock to fill requisitions and carries them or delivers them by hand or truck to requesting department; obtains authorized signature for supplies.
- Cleans equipment in warehouse/kitchen area.
- Assist with heavy lifting in warehouse/kitchen area.
- Maintains storeroom in orderly manner.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Tools/Equipment Used: Forklift/pallet jack
Posture: Frequent standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent walking, climbing ladders and scaffolding; grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, and overhead reaching; frequent driving
Lifting: Heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over) on a daily basis
Environment: Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and materials, noise, and vibration; work around moving objects or vehicles; may work alone; occasional prolonged or irregular hours
Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress
