We are a busy but small medical practice in North Seattle. This position is one of the most important in the office. It involves daily and constant work with our doctor and patients. you will make patients and their family members feel comfortable before, during, and after treatment. Positive energy in everything you do is a must.
What You'll be Doing!
*Scribing - a big part of this position is scribing for the podiatrist. This means you must have fast and accurate typing skills and a good working knowledge of medical terminology.
*Prepping rooms for podiatric procedures
*Assisting podiatrist with medical imaging
*New patient intake
*Follow-up with patients, pharmacies, and other medical offices
*Preparing for and assisting in surgery
What You'll be Learning!
You will gain exposure to the workings of a medical practice including medical transcription, documentation, marketing, practice management, goal-setting, and constant academic learning. Interns will have the opportunity to attend surgeries at the office. You'll be trained in lower extremity anatomy and you will develop a keen understanding of the structure, function, and mechanics of the foot and ankle.
Our doctor will spend a considerable amount of time helping you achieve your long-term goals of becoming a healthcare provider. He will help strengthen your application for acceptance into a graduate medical program.
Who We're Looking For!
This is a competitive internship intended for a well-rounded student looking to gain acceptance into an MD/DO, DDS/DMD, DPM, ARNP, PA or RN program. Applicants must be available full-time, have a bachelor's degree, and a minimum of a 3.5 GPA. and scribing and medical assistant experience.
