Overview
The Senior Manager, Internal Communications is responsible for developing and executing the internal establishing the sequencing for enterprise communications and developing written communications based on the organization’s strategic priorities and core programming.
The Senior Manager is responsible for managing the internal communications strategy and deliverables to reach our workforce across our company and owned channels. Additionally, this role will build strategic partnerships and lead the editorial calendar to align on all deadlines, write internal communication, global internal events and presentations, and partner with senior leaders to support their internal communications needs. This role ensures the company messages, corporate news, and team member updates are timely and consistent and attuned to our growing and diverse workforce.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute company-wide, integrated, comprehensive communications platforms and programs grounded in our corporate brand mission statement and designed to drive engagement and win the hearts and minds of Foot Locker, Inc. team members. Help elevate and drive a deeper understanding of the company’s purpose, vision, and core values, fostering increased team member pride and connection across the organization.
- Oversee editorial journey for all internal-employee communications channels to strengthen reputation as a global employer of choice, attracting and retaining top talent worldwide.
- Enhance, manage, and execute the communication strategy for vital employee-centric initiatives, driving deep understanding and buy-in through an integrated, global approach.
- Strategically partner with business leadership on employee communications, gather and write employee communications and feature stories for internal online media and digital signage, produce relevant content across various media and interpersonal platforms, and shepherd scope and deliverables through reviews and approvals.
- Collaborate and work closely with all key stakeholders to develop employee communication content strategies that break through the everyday clutter, bringing the Foot Locker, Inc. story to life across a diverse workforce.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with key internal stakeholders to identify current and future employment trends and deliver relevant, more personalized content. Identify the best tools and technologies to employ in support of our team communications, collaboration, and engagement, including myLockerRoom (intranet), Lace Up, Yammer, Teams, blogs, videos, etc.; create and maintain repositories for the division’s communications.
- Benchmark and identify best practices in employee communication and translate data to improve our employee communications strategies further and identify white space opportunities.
- Collect data, examine facts, analyze metrics and draw actionable conclusions.
- Research and develop executive presentations for online and face-to-face meetings.
- Identify opportunities and assess next course of action and guide team to execute accordingly.
- Prioritize and follow through with assignments in timely fashion and guide large, intricate timelines and project strategies.
- Other responsibilities and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field.
- 7 years related experience (incl large corporate organizations or agencies).
- Strategic thinker/project management and execution skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; high level of attention to quality and creativity.
- Competency in Office 365 (including external social media platforms and networking platforms like Yammer, Teams, etc.), Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Acrobat.
- Deep understanding of evolving DEI function.
- Excellent networking skills needed to quickly build global relationships.
- Creativity and comfort utilizing technology for communications, including digital and video communication.
- Ability to navigate in a global, matrixed and fast-paced environment with multiple projects and competing deadlines.
- Prepare and vet material in a poised and tactful manner.
- Understanding and interest in online media (including internal/external company platforms).
- Experience in writing for and producing content for multi-channel communications, including events, video, digital, and social media (internal and external social platforms).
- Experience in collaborating globally, and managing global projects with international counterparts.
- Self-starter, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to travel as required.

Benefits
The annual base salary range is $95000 - $115000 / year. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below:
