Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as a Volunteer Coordinator located in Monrovia, CA at Foothill Unity Center Inc. The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for managing volunteer programs, recruiting, training, and coordinating volunteers for various projects and initiatives to support the organization's mission. Develops and implements effective strategies to recruit the right volunteers with the right skills, and to work with the right staff employee; Identifies volunteer assignments that provide meaningful work for volunteers.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience
An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
- B.A. Degree and/or equivalent experience.
- Experience with coordinating volunteers.
- Outreach experience with community programs.
- Experience coordinating events and programs.
- Some work experience in a social service organization preferred.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screen prior to hire.
- Personal computer literacy required including MS Office Suite.
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish or Chinese preferred.
- Ability to keep information confidential and exercise judgment.
- Ease with others and strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to take initiative and follow through while maintaining reliability, and responsibility.
- Models ethical standards of conduct and professional practices at all times.
