Camp Oconee is looking for Camp Directors for this Summer!
Camp Oconee Locations:
- Seneca (South Cove County Park)
- Walhalla (Old Walhalla Middle School)
The first week of camp is June 2-6 and the last week of camp is July 21-25. We will have a training week the week before camp starts (May 27-30).
YMCA Camp Directors lead Camp Counselors and Counselors in Training (CITs) in day to day activities. They are the main lead at the camp site and communicate directly with parents as well. This position begins in mid-late March where Directors will plan games, activities, crafts, schedules, field trips, etc. for the Summer, under the direction of the Childcare Director. Directors are responsible for overseeing all program activities, parent communication, camper discipline, and camp safety. They will do so under the leadership of the Childcare Director. Summer Camp runs for 8 weeks (plus one week of training). All directors are allowed one week of vacation time if they have a planned trip for the summer.
Summer Camp begins at 7:30 and ends at 5:30, so directors will be working shifts of either 7:30 - 3:30, or 9:30 - 5:30. Directors will be scheduled to work 40 hours per week.
