The For Nina Foundation’s mission is to improve the quality of life for children and young adults suffering with serious illness by offering support services, raising awareness, and providing research funding. It is our vision to create a world where every child and young adult suffering with a serious illness will feel happy, healthy, and hopeful. To achieve this mission, and fulfill our vision, the Foundation seeks to provide funding for pediatric cancer research and free, custom wigs through our Wigs for Comfort and Confidence program. We are passionate about making a meaningful impact and are looking for a Volunteer Development Manager who shares our commitment to positive change.
Position Summary
This is a volunteer opportunity to support a small nonprofit organization that supports children suffering with serious illnesses. The Volunteer Development Manager will play a key role in advancing the organization’s fundraising efforts. This position is responsible for implementing strategies to increase individual, corporate, and foundation support, coordinating donor stewardship, assisting with fundraising events, and supporting the overall development goals of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement fundraising strategies to grow annual giving, major gifts, corporate partnerships, and foundation support.
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of individual and institutional donors.
- Create a positive reputation for the organization.
- Collaborate with the board of directors to create compelling fundraising materials, donor appeals, newsletters, and various marketing and fundraising campaigns.
- Assist with fundraising events.
- Conduct donor research and prepare briefing materials for leadership.
- Monitor fundraising metrics, generate reports, and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
- Oversee grant writing and reporting in collaboration with leadership.
- Represent the organization at events and networking opportunities as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 3 years of experience in nonprofit development or fundraising roles.
- Demonstrated success in donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Grant writing experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for the mission and values of the For Nina Foundation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience planning and executing fundraising events.
- Knowledge of fundraising best practices and current trends.
