Position Summary:We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Credit Manager to oversee our company’s credit and collections processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in credit analysis, risk management, and accounts receivable within the construction or supply industry. This role plays a critical part in supporting our financial health by ensuring sound credit practices and efficient cash flow management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess creditworthiness of potential and existing customers using financial data, payment history, and industry insights.
- Establish credit limits and terms, ensuring alignment with company policies and risk tolerance.
- Manage the accounts receivable portfolio, including monitoring aging reports, resolving past-due accounts, and reducing delinquency rates.
- Collaborate with sales, Assistant Credit Manager and customer service teams to balance credit risk with customer relationships.
- Develop and implement credit policies and procedures to optimize efficiency and minimize bad debt.
- Handle escalated collection issues and negotiate payment plans when necessary.
- Prepare credit-related reports and present key metrics to management.
- Stay updated on industry trends, economic conditions, and regulations impacting credit practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience as a credit manager, credit analyst, or in a similar role, preferably in the construction supply or related industry.
- Strong understanding of credit policies, financial statements, and risk analysis.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
