This job entails:
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits for patients in a dermatology office setting.
- Review and interpret insurance policies, including understanding ICD-10 and ICD-9 codes.
- Communicate with insurance companies to obtain necessary information and resolve any issues.
- Update patient records with accurate insurance information.
- Assist patients in understanding their insurance coverage and benefits.
- Collaborate with the billing department to ensure accurate and timely claims submission.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in insurance policies, managed care plans, and medical coding practices.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in insurance verification or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, ICD-9 codes, and medical coding practices.
- Familiarity with managed care plans and insurance policies.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in verifying insurance information.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with electronic medical records systems.
