The position has the following responsibilities:
- Guides and instructs team members in craftsmanship and safety standards
- Expertise with measurement equipment and CAM software in support of CNC (Mills, Lathes, Grinders and EDM)
- Training and mentoring current team members and department interns
- Establishes department work flows and sets priorities to meet expected lead times
- Troubleshooting equipment and reports on work progress to department’s customers
- Review and approval of blueprints and related schematics for assets and project work
- Leadership activities that foster professionalism and mutual respect
- Evaluations and staff assessments
- Engages teams through implementation of lean manufacturing concepts to improve efficiency
- Promoting and maintaining an organizational commitment to quality
A bachelor’s degree in an engineering or technical discipline and four to ten years of supervisory experience is needed. Prospects should be occasionally moving up to 50 pounds. Office activities and hand tool operation are common in the role.
