Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Director of Development for Parent & Family Philanthropy, the Coordinator of Parent & Family Philanthropy is responsible for the team’s administrative, data, volunteer management, and communication tasks.
This position works closely with the Senior Director to develop a comprehensive strategy for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding parent and family philanthropic support. Additionally, the Coordinator will execute all aspects of parent and family engagement events and initiatives while helping enhance fundraising strategy designed to cultivate and secure philanthropic support to foster a healthy donor pipeline.
Some travel and evening/weekend work is required.
Essential Functions
Responsible for volunteer management and oversight of Fordham’s Parents’ Leadership Council.
Creates strategic programming that elevates parent leadership philanthropy and enhances support of the University’s mission.
Leads all parent and family philanthropy event preparation/planning/execution, including organizing and spearheading the logistics for these events/activities to support the Parent and Family Philanthropy Team’s fundraising strategies.
Develops fundraising communications to support the overall parent engagement and fundraising strategy.
Facilitates and coordinates regular communications with parents through the website, regular PLC newsletters, and emails to individual members.
Assists and executes annual giving strategies as directed by partnering with Fordham Fund colleagues to conceptualize, develop, and manage the process for effective multichannel parent and family fundraising and stewardship.
Develops parent donor-centric stewardship strategies and meaningful engagement opportunities.
Provides administrative/budget support. Tracks, analyzes, and monitors expenses for the various activities of the Parent and Family Philanthropy team.

Additional Functions
Partners with various University and DAUR teams to co-create and execute engaging events for Fordham parents.
Works closely with Advancement Services to ensure the seamless transfer and maintenance of parent and family data and actively participates in initiatives to enhance parent-specific reporting mechanisms.
Collaborates with the University Marketing and Communications team to develop and coordinate targeted solicitations and communications for parents and families.
Collaborates with the Admissions Team to devise compelling yield and melt communications. Serves on Fordham’s Entering Class Management Committee, contributing insights and expertise.
Partners with colleagues throughout the Development and University Relations division to ensure effective, efficient, and coordinated fundraising strategies and assists, where needed, in reunions, Family Weekend, Homecoming, and other important University-wide special events.
Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business, liberal arts, or related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience, preferably in a fundraising and/or education setting.
Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills
Proven track record of being detail-oriented and thorough; skilled at anticipating and preventing potential problems and handling various tasks efficiently and accurately.
Strong commitment to a quality work product. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally, in writing, and electronically.
Effective organizational, logistical, time management and planning skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks/projects simultaneously, prioritize and fulfill the functions of an office in a timely manner.
Demonstrated interpersonal and team-building skills to establish and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, faculty, donors, volunteers, and university officials, emphasizing tact, diplomacy, flexibility, collaboration, professionalism, and discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with fundraising databases and tools ( CRM Advance, Fundraiser Performance Management, etc.)
Minimum Starting Salary $65,000
Maximum Starting Salary $70,000
