Job Description
Position Information:
Location: Lititz, PA
Type: Full-Time
Salary: $75,000-$80,000/yr
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain Excellence: Oversee the maintenance and operations of campus grounds, custodial services, transportation, and repair projects.
Team Leadership: Supervise, assign, and evaluate staff; provide training on work procedures, standards, and safety practices.
Safety First: Ensure all safety regulations are followed, provide training, and support a culture of safety.
Project Management: Lead projects related to facility improvements, preventative and deferred maintenance, and sustainable operations.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Manage the department’s budget, prepare justifications, and authorize expenditures.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Director of Facilities, administrators, and key stakeholders to address safety, space utilization, and future facility needs.
Sustainability: Create and implement environmentally sustainable policies and procedures for all grounds operations.
Policy & Procedures: Develop, review, and update departmental policies and procedures to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
Qualifications
Experience: Progressively responsible experience in facilities management, grounds maintenance, custodial services, and related fields. Experience in construction is preferred.
Leadership Skills: Strong ability to supervise, train, and evaluate staff, manage operations, and oversee projects from planning to completion.
Knowledge of:
Principles and practices of facility maintenance, groundskeeping, custodial operations, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, landscaping, and pest control.
Methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in building and grounds maintenance.
Applicable laws, codes, regulations, and standards governing building maintenance and groundskeeping.
Extensive expertise in Life Safety compliance, including fire safety, emergency preparedness, and regulatory requirements to ensure a safe environment.
Technical Skills: Ability to read blueprints, interpret plans, and prepare specifications for minor construction projects.
Safety Focus: Knowledge of safety and safe working practices for building maintenance and groundskeeping.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse team and key stakeholders.
Problem Solving: Strong analytical and independent judgment skills within general policy guidelines.
Budget Management: Experience in managing and implementing division budgets, including contract administration for maintenance services.
Other Requirements:
Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
Ability to work variable schedules, including call-ins during off-hours and weekends as required.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy materials, operate tools and equipment, and work outdoors in various weather conditions, including exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes.
Active Environment: Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and working in extreme temperature conditions.
Safety Focus: Safely handle chemicals, equipment, and participate in continuing education to adapt to workplace challenges.
