About This Opportunity
JOB TITLE: Maintenance Technician - Temporary
POSITION TYPE: Full time
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
- $1.25 shift premium for hours worked between 5pm-5am
- 3PM -11PM schedule
- Hours may be adjusted according to production and maintenance needs. Will be required to cover some weekend shifts and to perform emergency work outside of normally scheduled hours, as needed.

We make Wisconsin Cheese for some of the world’s most recognized brands. Our dynamic team in Clayton produces made-to-order, customized blends of Wisconsin cheese for food service and food processing applications. High-quality Provolone, Mozzarella, and whey products are our specialties in Clayton.
The expected duration of employment for the job posting for a Temporary Maintenance Technician is up to 12 months. The selection process will consist of a timed and scored maintenance knowledge test and in-person interview.
The hours worked for this maintenance position will be the 3pm -11pm shift. Hours may be adjusted according to production and maintenance needs. The individual will be expected to cover some weekend shifts and will be required to perform emergency work outside of normally scheduled hours, as needed.
JOB DUTIES:
As a Maintenance Technician in Clayton, you'll be responsible for keeping manufacturing equipment in top working condition. Typical duties include:
- Install motors and pumps
- Weld stainless steel
- Maintain ammonia refrigeration equipment
- Operate boilers
- Conduct preventative maintenance and electrical troubleshooting
- Work with pneumatics, instrumentation, HVAC and more
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to pass the timed and scored maintenance knowledge test
- Willing to use a forklift and scissor lift (training is provided)
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Food processing experience or experience maintaining manufacturing equipment preferred, not required
- Electro-Mechanical Technology degree or related education or experience preferred
- Experience with ammonia systems, welding, boilers, cooling towers, pumps and motors, electrical troubleshooting
- Able to read and understand standard operating procedures written in English
