Summer Skills Academy Instructional Assistant Student Supervision PK-8(Temporary
Job Description/Responsibilities:
- Supervise students throughout the campus as designated;
- Respond to calls for assistance from teachers, staff and administration;
- Supervise classrooms as needed;
- Run communication from administration as necessary;
- Supervise during Breaks, Lunch, before and after school as necessary;
- Supervise buses before and after school;
- Communicate with teachers, administrators and others as necessary;
- Respond to emergency situations;
- Break up verbal and physical confrontations as necessary;
- Use effective verbal communication to de-escalate student behaviors;
- Observe and report abnormal or suspicious circumstances to supervisors;
- Mandatory Reporter of student abuse;
- Assist with administrative investigations as necessary;
- Report vandalism, safety concerns and graffiti to supervisors;
- Uphold and enforce all student policies and procedures;
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently
- Good communication skills with students, staff and parents
- Able to circulate throughout school building and on school grounds
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Have and maintain a valid first aid card
- Ability to use radio and e-mail
