Reports To: Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources
Pay Grade: Grade 5, Step 1, $19.05 per hour
Schedule: 8 hours per day, 52 weeks per year
Job Summary: The Human Resources Receptionist/Administrative Assistant is responsible for helping staff and guests feel welcome and comfortable both in-person and over the phone. Assist candidates with the application/hiring process and act as a liaison between district staff and prospective employees. Facilitate hiring procedures for onboarding and employment. Assist Human Resources team with ongoing projects and clerical tasks.
Qualifications:
- Excellent computer, communication, and organizational skills
- Excellent attendance, punctuality, and customer service skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong knowledge of Google Suite of Products
- Ability to efficiently learn and utilize new software applications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field
- Two or more years secretarial/clerical experience
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Computer skills testing may be required for this position
Essential Job Functions:
- Screen and direct all HR calls as needed
- Greet and assist all visitors
- Coordinate the onboarding process for new employees
- Schedule and coordinate interviews as needed
- Record background checks for and process school volunteers, student teachers, contractors, and interns
- Process employee demographic updates and employment verifications as needed
- Maintain staff directory
- Maintain updated Labor Law compliance information for all buildings
- Maintain HR budget, generate purchase orders, coordinate purchasing of supplies and maintenance of inventory
- Post and maintain all district job postings
- Assist with the district switchboard one hour per day (additional time as needed)
- Assist Human Resources team with ongoing projects/tasks as needed
- Consistent and reliable attendance
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, hear (in a quiet or noisy environment). The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust/focus. Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. Work will be performed mostly indoors.

Evaluation:
In accordance with the Administrative Support Staff Agreement.
Terms of Employment:
The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.
